5 DAYS LAKE MBURO & BWINDI NATIONAL PARK
Itinerary
5 Days Lake Mburo National Park Safari allow you to enjoy watching games, birding, nature walks and boat cruises in Lake Mburo National Park. This appealing park of rolling mountains and open grassy valleys surrounded by thick woods and wealthy wetlands is the only place in Uganda where Impala still occurs and is the best place to see big herds of Elands (the biggest Antelopes in Africa).
Day 1: Arrival in Uganda
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our safari guide will meet you and take you to Kampala to a hotel that you have booked. If you have had an early flight to Uganda, a short tour of Kampala City will take you. The adventure of the Lake Mburo National Park Safari starts the next day.
Day 2: Travel to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, the Lake Mburo National Park Safari begins and we travel west from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park. The trip will take 3-4 hours at the Equator with a stopover where you will have the chance to simultaneously stand in 2 hemispheres and take memorial pictures. You will proceed to Lake Mburo where the lodge booked for you will have dinner.
You will go on a boat ride on the lake in the afternoon to see a range of pets such as hippos and crocodiles and bird species such as Pelicans, Black Crake, Heron, Cormorant and Fish Eagle that can only be obviously seen on a boat journey. You are going to retire for lunch and overnight at your lodge.
Day 3: Exploration of the Mburo Park
You will have an early breakfast and set off for a sunrise game drive in the park where you can expect to see a range of wildlife such as zebras, monkeys, impalas, waterbucks, elands, buffalos, hippos, topi, bohor reedbuck, sitatunga antelope, klipspringer, vervet monkey, olive baboon, side-striped jackal, spotted hyena, leopard, white-tailed mongoose, among others.
You will return for a meal to your lodge and go for either a riding horse around in the park or a stroll in the Rubanga Forest in the evening. This forest is therefore a very appealing location for bird watching, offering an outstanding habitat for birds. You’d be involved in sport fishing at Lake Mburo before you retire.
