Over 4 days, the Fly-in Gorilla Safari North Buhoma offers an elegant, time-efficient journey to Bwindi’s gorilla habitat. After arrival in Entebbe, you’ll board a domestic flight to Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip, then transfer to North Buhoma. The next two days are devoted to guided gorilla trekking in this quiet forest sector, with time also for forest walks, birding, and local community visits. Accommodations are in forest lodges or eco-camps with full board. On the final day, you return by air and road to Entebbe. This short safari balances comfort, wildlife immersion, and minimal travel time.

Welcome to the Pearl of Africa! Upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from our affiliate tour company in Uganda. From there, you will be transferred to The Boma Entebbe for your rest and overnight stay, just a 5–10 minute drive from the airport.
Of the over 800 mountain gorillas worldwide, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to almost half of the global population. There is truly no better place to observe these gentle giants up close. Thanks to dedicated wildlife conservation programs, the gorilla population in Bwindi has increased from 300 to about 400 in recent years, including nine different families that have been habituated for tourism purposes. In addition to gorillas, the dense forest is also home to nine other primate species. Visitors can enjoy different trails within the park, such as the Munyanga River Trail and the Waterfall Trail, which wind through pristine rainforest leading to three sparkling waterfalls.
Overnight at The Boma Entebbe
This welcoming guesthouse is located on the outskirts of Entebbe, only a short distance from the airport. It is a tastefully restored colonial homestead offering comfortable, African-themed bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. Guests can relax at the diner’s bar set within landscaped gardens with views of Lake Victoria. The main house also features a private dining veranda and a cozy living room, ensuring a warm and homely stay for overnight visitors.
After an early breakfast transfer to Entebbe International Airport for a domestic flight to Western Uganda, departing at 07.00 or 07.45 hr. From Kihihi Airstrip (expected arrival at 08.45/09.30 hr) you will be transferred by road in about one hour to the home of the endangered mountain gorillas. Check in at the lodge and enjoy a delicious lunch. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to relax and prepare yourself for the next day. Or go for an optional (guided) forest walk for a first introduction with Uganda`s unique flora and fauna and acclimatization. Dinner and overnight at Haven Lodge Buhoma- cottage. (B-L-D).

Following breakfast, transfer to the national park offices where you will be allocated a gorilla family in groups of 8 as well as a gorilla tracking guide. After a pre-tracking briefing by your guide touching on the gorillas generally, your assigned gorilla family as well as appropriate safety precautions, you drive to the trailhead for the start of a thrilling adventure. Expect to walk between 2 and 8 hours in steep and sometimes muddy conditions with rain overhead, which can be tough and require a degree of (average) fitness. However the thrill of coming face to face with a giant Mountain Gorilla silverback completely makes up for the effort!
Please remember to bring your passport for registration, appropriate, water proof hiking boots and a light rain coat. To protect from stinging nettles, we recommend long pants and long sleeved tops. A pair of old gardening gloves can help grabbing onto the vegetation while most hotels/lodges provide a walking stick that comes in very handy especially when hiking downhill.
A small waterproof backpack is an excellent idea to carry a light snack, bottled water as well as protection for your camera.
Today, we will depart from the impenetrable forest of Bwindi on a morning flight to Entebbe International Airport. Upon arrival, you will connect to your onward flight back to Nairobi, Kenya. (B)
