The 5-Day Kidepo Valley Experience takes you from Kampala through northern Uganda into one of Africa’s most remote parks, Kidepo Valley. On Day 1, you drive to Gulu, rest, and prepare for travel to Kidepo. Day 2 begins with a drive from Gulu through Kitgum, arriving at Kidepo by midday. Days 3 and 4 are devoted to game viewing, scoring early morning drives and afternoon under-canopy wildlife in Narus Valley, tracking rare species like roan antelope, Jackson’s hartebeest, and white buffalo. You also engage with local communities, participate in traditional activities, and return to Gulu and Kampala on the final day. Lodges or bandas, full meals, and expert guiding complement the remote wilderness feel.
Very early game drives in Narus Valley uncover rare species: bat-eared fox, caracal, greater kudu, Jackson’s hartebeest, and white buffalo in open wilderness.
Local community visit with milking of cows, traditional dances, for immersive cultural exchange and understanding of Kidepo Valley’s indigenous lifeways.

Today you will have breakfast the Tour drive will pick you from the hotel and then set off for Gulu. The driving time is 4 hours and 30 minutes approximately 339 Kms via Masindi. You will have lunch on arrival. Dinner and overnight in Gulu town.
After breakfast at around 7:00am you will drive to Kidepo valley National park. Depart Gulu at 7.00am after and early breakfast, and drive via Kitgum. The drive will take approximately 3-4 hours. On arrival, you will have lunch and relax the rest of the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in UWA bandas or Apoka lodge.
Breakfast and then go for a very early morning game drive to catch up with the early risers such as lions, and leopards. Other animals to be spotted include Bat-eared Fox, Stripped Hyena, Cheetah, Caracal Lesser, Greater Kudu, Roan Antelope, Besia Oryx, Eland, Defassa Waterbuck, Oribi, Bohor Reedbuck, and Jacksons Hartebeest, Rothchilds Giraffe and Burchell’s Zebra, Lions, white Buffalo and Elephants which can be seen in Narus Valley. You will return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon visit the local communities and do activities with them like milking of the cows and be participating in their traditional dances. Dinner and overnight as above.
After morning breakfast, you will proceed for gorilla trekking the major tourist activity in the park with packed lunch alongside an experienced guide. The trek may seem to be tiresome but enjoyable. Your encounter with the great primates gives a good description of trekking. You will realize the forest sound as you see various forest Flora and fauna. Overnight at Gorilla Resort or Buhoma Community Bandas (Full Board).
After breakfast you will drive back to Kampala. This is about 4 hours and 30 minutes. You will have lunch on arrival in Kampala town. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
