The 4 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Experience starts with arrival in Entebbe and a drive to Lake Mburo National Park, where you settle at Mihingo Lodge and explore wildlife via boat ride or game drive. On Day 2, you travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, passing through scenic countryside and traditional homesteads before resting at Buhoma Lodge. Day 3 is dedicated to a gorilla trek through dense forest terrain in search of mountain gorillas, observing them feeding, resting, and interacting. Expect muddy trails, rich vegetation, and spectacular wildlife moments. Day 4 sees you returning to Kampala after breakfast, crossing the Equator and reflecting on unforgettable primate encounters and serene Ugandan landscapes.
Stay at Mihingo Lodge in Lake Mburo: boat ride on the lake, game drive observing buffalo, topi, impala, and warthog wildlife.
Scenic drive to Bwindi via cultural homesteads and lush scenery; settle in Buhoma Lodge tucked into the forest’s edge.
Gorilla trekking in Bwindi: long hike in dense trail, encounters with gorilla family in their natural forest environment.
Return to Kampala crossing the Equator, reflecting on primate encounters and landscapes, with full board included accommodations.
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport in the Morning, a member of Australken will welcome you and drive to the beautiful Lake Mburo National Park and onto the peaceful and secluded Mihingo Lodge. Look out for some of the indigenous wildlife such as topi, impala, warthog and buffalo as you drive through the park. Enjoy a boat ride after lunch on the lake or head out on a game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mihingo Lodge LDBB.
Wake up early for a guided bush walk along some of the trails near the Mihingo Lodge. After breakfast make your way to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park past traditional Ugandan homesteads and breathtaking scenery. Spend the day exploring Bwindi, stopping along the way for a picnic lunch. Spend the next 2 nights at Buhoma Lodge.
Today you will hike through the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in search of the gentle mountain gorillas. Expect to walk a long distance in muddy conditions as you search for a family of gorillas. It will all be worthwhile though when you watch the gorillas eat, play and rest. Observing these creatures in their natural environment from close quarters is a truly unique experience.
After breakfast, depart the Bwindi forests for Kampala, the nation’s capital. As you make your way to Kampala, you’ll cross the Equator – a great photo opportunity!
