ETS N264: 2DAYS/1 NIGHT ACTIVE SENIOR TRAVEL TO LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

Destination Highlights:

LAKE NAKURU – The Rhino Sanctuary

Attractions

This is a major National Park and an important sanctuary for Rhino. Both Black and White Rhino are found here, and are often seen resting under acacias by the Lake shore.

There are huge herds of waterbuck, zebra, buffalo, the endangered Rothschild Giraffe and more. This is one of your best chances of seeing Leopard in Kenya, and there are several large prides of Lion.

Although there is great birdlife at the lake, conditions in recent years have become unfavourable for flamingos, which used to be a real attraction here. As a result, the flamingos have moved to other lakes in the Rift Valley.

Activities

Exploring beyond the lake is always rewarding and there are forests, cliffs, waterfalls and more to be found here.

Bird Watching:Lake Nakuru is an ornithologist’s paradise with over 400 recorded species of birds. Around the lake one can find flamingos, a wide range of waders including avocet, while large rafts of pelicans can also be seen sweeping the water in unison.

Visit to the Baboon Cliff: The Baboon Cliff is located on one of the highest points on the hills surrounding the lake with stunning views and a picnic site where visitors can get off and enjoy the scenery.
