This tour takes you through two of the major parks of Kenya – Amboseli and Mara with a break at Lake Naivasha.

 

Amboseli is a land of giants, where huge herds of elephants stand strong against a dramatic backdrop of Africa’s highest mountain: Mount Kilimanjaro. Easily accessible and with effortless wildlife viewing, this popular national park defies its size and offers an impressive safari experience.

 

Masai Mara National Reserve is considered a “must see” for any visitor traveling on safari in Kenya. It is on the “to do” list of most Kenyan visitors because the park is graced by a wide variety of unique and exquisite wild life and birds.Masai Mara is the best place to see all of the “Big Five” animals (elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalo) together. The famous wildebeest migration also takes place at the Mara.

 

The leg at Lake Naivasha offers the visitor a chance to enjoy Lake Naivasha where one can do a boat ride as well as do active walks in the vast lodge grounds as well as at the Crescent Island.

Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli National park (216km)

Depart the busy Nairobi in the morning for Amboseli National park at the foot of the snow capped Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain.

Arrive at Kilima Safari Camp in time for lunch. Kilima Safari Camp is located in the area of Amboseli National Park, next to the Kimana Gate Park entrance.The camp is set out on a 420 acre site with spectacular view of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Enjoy lunch at the uniquely designed Kilima Camp, enjoy the lodge facilities as you relax. The lodge has a very uniquely designed swimming pool which you can dip in while enjoying the sights and sounds of the Amboseli.

Depart for a game viewing drive where you are guaranteed to see huge herds of Elephants. The park also offer sighting of various animals. Take a drive back to the hotel as you watch the unique formation of nature which will help you experience a truly refreshing encounter of the sunset with hues of colour changes over the horizon. Have your camera ready for a unique photo.

Enjoy your evening at the lodge where you also get to interact and socialize with the friendly staff as your learn more about the Masai culture.

The lodge has a watch tower where you can climb to watch the breathtaking sunset as well as the snow capped Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Day 2: Amboseli

Wake up and tantalize your senses to the different sights and sounds at the camp as you welcome the new day. If you are lucky and it is a clear day, you will see the snow capped Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Have a hearty breakfast as you look forward to a day full of adventure in this in this photogenic park. This day we carry a picnic lunch.

Amboseli National park is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya. It is situated close to Kenya- Tanzania border, The Park lies at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa (5,896m) whose snow-capped summit presents a splendid view on clear days. Amboseli National Park is often referred to as “The home of Elephants’ some of the largest Elephant herds are found here.

The Game Park also contains vast groups of Zebras, Wildebeests, Giraffes, Buffalos, Hippos and Antelopes. Also to be found in Amboseli are lions, leopards, Cheetahs, Rhinos and many species of plain game. The park is also full of prolific birdlife with features 600 recorded species.

What to see, what to do at Amboseli National Park

Wildlife: The main purpose of a wildlife safari is to see Kenya’s wild animals in their natural habitat.

Visit Observation hill, which overlooks the park.  Swamps, and of course, the herds of free – roaming Elephants.

Meet the Masai people and learn about the Masai culture and their indigenous lifestyle.

Bird watching is best between October and January if you want to see Kenya’s migratory birds, including African skimmers, red and yellow bishops, goshawks, buffalo weaves and palm nut vultures, to name a few.

At the lodge, you will have your dinner as you listen to memorable entertainment from the traditional songs and dances from the Masai dancers. You also get an opportunity to interact with them to know about their culture.

Kilima Camp offers the active senior traveler an opportunity to stretch their legs as the rooms are well spread out giving you an opportunity to walk.

Day 3: Amboseli – Naivasha(310km)

Depart the lodge soon after breakfast and proceed to Lake Naivasha via Nairobi. You will have lunch en route.  Arrive at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge which is set in one hundred and fifty acres of grassland studded with Acacia bushes and trees. The resort is home to giraffes, waterbuck and both Vervet and Colobus monkeys.

Take time to rest and relax at the lodge. Take an active walk in the vast grounds as you visit the lake.  If time permits, take a boat ride as you enjoy this beautiful lake.

Enjoy a buffet dinner at the unique Sopa Lodge. You can opt to end your day by the bonfire under the open sky’s.

The rooms are also located in an environment that give the active senior traveler time to stretch their legs.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha- Masai Mara (287km)

Wake up to the African sights and sounds of Naivasha as you prepare to take your breakfast.

After breakfast departs for Masai Mara – the land of vast migrating animals. Arrival will be in time for lunch at Sekenani Camp.

Sekenani Camp comprises 15 double tents with a total of 30 beds. Each tent has a wooden floor and an en suite bathroom complete with a full length bath tub. The camp is Eco friendly and has a solid waste management programme.

After lunch embark on a game viewing drive that takes you close to the wildlife in the Masai Mara. This gives you an opportunity to view wild animals in their natural habitat as they go about their activities.

Return to the camp. Refresh for dinner and expect to enjoy a delicious and healthy meal which is prepared from the fresh organic garden produce of Sekenani Camp.

Day 5: Masai Mara

We wake up to the sights and sounds of the Masai Mara. This full day will be spent in search of the Big 5. We carry a picnic lunch so that we spend time exploring this vast park.

Lunch will be at the hippo pool. This is where you will take an active walk to stretch your legs as you answer to the calls of nature.

At the Masai Mara you can expect to see lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, and hippos among many other animals.

A night at the Mara reminds you of quite a number of bush sounds including the zipping of your tent as well as the flaps.

Day 6: Masai Mara -Nairobi (307km)

Pre breakfast game viewing then return to the lodge for breakfast returns to Nairobi where the safari ends. You will be transferred to either your hotel or drop of at the airport.                                    Safari ends in Nairobi.

Booking Terms And Conditions

ELIDA TOURS & SAFARIS BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR TOURS & SAFARIS

The Booking Terms:
A minimum of 40 % of the total cost of the tour has to be paid at the time of booking confirmation and the balance is payable at/or before the start of the safari.
Any tour and safari deposit paid shall be refunded less the cost of cancellation fees levied by hotels and administrative costs as follow.

Please note that refunds will be done within 30 days after cancellation of the tour/safari.
Modification of tour
If you choose to modify the arrangements after the commencement of the tour i.e. change accommodation or the duration of your stay, the company shall accept no liability for any loss or additional expense and no refunds will be made.

Rates/ Prices
Tour prices include: 
– All expenses for drivers and vehicles appropriate for the itinerary as set out. i.e. for transfers, game drives, drivers allowances unless otherwise stated in the itinerary. 
– Government hotel taxes, training levy and service charges, all park entry fees except where specifically indicated separately. 
Tour price exclude: 
– Personal insurance, 
– Airport taxes, landing fees for charters and visas, 
– Gratuities to drivers and porters (other than hotel service charge), 
– Beverages (unless otherwise indicated), 
– Laundry, other personal expenses of tour members (i.e. telephone calls etc), 
– Any other tour services requested that do not appear in the itinerary.

Safari booking and accommodation.
– Our safari package are based on two persons sharing in a twin room tent. 
– Single rooms are provided at an additional cost (single room supplement – (SRS). 
– Hotels/lodges/tented camps are named as an indication of the category of accommodation and if the need arises may be reserved at same standard of hotel/lodges/tented camps. In the event that this happens we undertake to notify you of any changes to your safari accommodation in advance.

Liability
i. The Company is insured against legal liability arising from injuries that might be received by passengers while inside vehicles. 
ii. The Company and its agents act only as agents of the passenger in all the matters relating to hotel accommodation, sightseeing, tour and transport whether by aircraft, rail, motor vehicle, boat or any matter howsoever except when the passenger is being carried in transport owned by the Company. 
iii. The Company’s obligations apply to those services, which they agree to provide on your behalf. We cannot be held liable for any third party arrangements you arrange in conjunction on your own. For instance, the Company will not be held liable if you miss your tour departure because you fail to arrive at the departure point at the agreed time. 
iv. The Company’s liability to passengers carried in its own vehicles is governed by the laws of the respective country in which services are provided and no other country, and all the claims are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the respective country in which the services were provided. 
v. The company reserves the right to employ subcontractors to carry out all or part of the services agreed to be supplied and in the event of such right the terms to the clause iii relating to the company’s liability shall apply 
vi. Whilst every care is taken, the company cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage of baggage. It is therefore advisable to effect separate baggage insurance. 
vii. In the event that a claim is made against the travel agent or the tour operator in respect of any loss or damage occasioned by the breach of contracts, negligence or other fault of the company, the Company shall be liable to indemnify the tour operator (as the case may be) in the courts of the country in which services were provided if the Tour Operator (as the case may be) had submitted jurisdiction in the said courts. 
viii. In respect of any such claim mentioned in sub clause (ix) of this clause, the Company shall be under no liability expressly assumed in this clause. 
ix. For the purpose of this clause, the Company shall be deemed to include its servants and agents and shall be deemed to contract on behalf of such servant and agent.

Passports and Visas
The client is required to ensure that their passport and travel documentation is in order and that they have obtained the necessary visas for their journey. 

Travel Insurance
It is a condition of booking one of our tours that the traveler is adequately insured for the full duration of the tour in respect of illness, injury, death, loss of baggage and personal items, cancellation and curtailment. The choice of insurer is the sole discretion of the client.
